It takes pace and mind, pride and courage to climb a mountain.
Importantly, it also takes an incredible team: one which respects each other, builds on strengths, motivates and lastly, challenges each other to be their best. To this end, we are proud to announce team Pace & Mind deputed at the 2016 Cabot Trail Relay earning a 6th place finish out of 70 competitive teams and won 2nd place in the ‘mixed’ team category. Topline results speak for themselves: 12 top 20 finishes, 7 top 10 and 3 top 5, including: Coach’s #1 win on Leg #4 (known as ‘Big Smokey’) and 4th on Leg #17. Remarkably, we had 4 top 5 female finishes: Shalaleh Tarbiat (running 2 legs earned 3rd place female in each), Danielle Lawerence (3rd place female) and Damara Nickerson (tied for 2nd female finish in leg #16).

Beyond team, it takes an incredible support system of planning to get 15 ‘A-type’ runners around a 175 mile course loop. Operations, logistics, meal preparation, accommodations and transportation are just the beginning of executing a 24 hour relay. Pace & Mind is an advanced ‘tough love’ coaching service for distance runners. We offer advanced and highly customized 5k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon coaching for runners to improve their performance both on and off the road. Our coaching is based on the principles founded by Head Coach and Co-founder Rejean Chiasson, a Canadian marathon champion, and 4x half-marathon medalist. Coaching programs are powered by TrainingPeaks software to ensure data accuracy. No runner’s program is the same and it constantly changes season by season, cycle by cycle. Our Coaches review your plan in detail each week, then adjust based on your progression and listens to you in terms of changes in nutrition, mental state and cross training efforts. Each runner also receives a cross-training plan and a racing singlet as part of the program.
